Siapa yang ga tahu RX-King. Itu lho motor 2 tak yang terkenal pas tahun 1980-an ama 1990-an sebagai motornya penjambret. Kalau diitung-itung motor ini panjang umur juga ya di Indonesia. Keluarnya tahun 1983 dan discontinue 2008, wogh berati 25 tahun masa produksi tanpa perubahan body yang berarti waooow… Dan kalau ditambah RX-K yang masuk Indonesia, berati umur motor ini 29 tahun, soale RX-K masuk pada 1980. Ngomong-ngomong soal RX-K, motor ini mesinnya hampir sama dengan RX-King, bedanya RX-King udah YEIS, RX-K belum. Mungkin ente-ente sudah jarang melihat RX-K ya :mrgreen:, wong lihat RX-King aja belum tentu tiap hari kok hehehe. Ya iyalah, dan lagi banyak RX-K yang dimodif jadi RX-King.
O ya ngomong2 soal RX-King, aku dah cerita belum soal RX-King paman ane yang dijual murah gara-gara dia sakit diabet dan butuh duit buat biaya pengobatan. Betule pengen itu leken, sekalian belajar pake motor koplingan. Eh sang papa malah punya pendapat lain dengan membelikan ane Supra X 125. Duh eman cak, padhal New RX-King (yang lampunya bunder itu lho) itu waktu dijual masih kilometer 4000 apa 6000 gitu, harganya ya lumayan – beli baru Rp 18,5 dilepas Rp 13 jutaan (kalau ga salah). Tapi ga apa apa kok Supra irit, bensin 10ribu bisa buat 4 hari huakakak.
Dan memang kalau mau bercerita sejarah RX-King memang harus ngomongno RX-K sisan, ya gimana lagi, mereka masih saudara kandung kayak Honda Kharisma-Supra X 125, mesinnya hampir sama, cuma beda beberapa komponen :D
Aslinya RX-K adalah obsesi Yamaha Jepang sono buat membuat motor dengan cc-kecil tapi larinya kayak Harley Davidson. Pada 1970 dikembangkanlah RX-K 135cc, tapi memang RX-K ga berumur lama di Jepang, makanya sekarang sendiri susah cari peninggalan RX-K di Jepang. Btw katanya jaman dulu anggota gangster Yakuza suka naek RX-K lho — ya katanya orang-orang Jepang yang udah tua lho.
Ceritanya berlanjut di Indonesia (ya RB92 aja lahrinya 1992 hehehe) pada tahun 1980, YMKI memasukan motor RX-K 135cc (pasnya sih 132cc), kalau dipelototin saingannya ya Honda GL125 (katanya papa waktu itu belum ganti nama jadi GL Max :mrgreen:). Karena RX-K 2 tak 135cc dan GL125 ya 125cc 4 tak, jelas GL125 kalah di aspal, namun mungkin masih menang di penjualan (yang senior dan yang tahu monggo coment). Kalau buat ukuran tahun 1980 power RX-K yang 17,5Hp @ 7500rpm dan bisa digas sampe 150kph itu udah edan sen cin ping. Tapi mungkin awal tahun 1980-an masih jaman kejayaannya sport Honda (dengan GLSeries, CBSeries – CB100 generasi terakhir, dan CG Series), maka mungkin Yamaha RX-K kurang laku, Gak heran umur RX-K ini pendek, mulai masuk 1980 dan selesai produksi tahun 1983 pokoknya sampai RX-King dilaunching.

Nah aslie, YMKI sudah merencanakan kelahiran RX-King, soale gini, YMKI pas jaman itu survey. Orang Indonesia itu maunya sepeda motor yang kayak apa seh? Apa mereka lau matic yang ada AHO-nya, apa mereka mau sepeda motor roda 3, atau apa mereka mau Yamaha V80 Fuel Injection, nah ternyata perkiraan saya ini salah semua (ya iyalah lha wong aslie wes ngaworr kok :mrgreen:). Akhirnya didapat kesimpulan. Orang Indo mau motor 2 tak yang irit, larinya buanter, tarikannya kayak dijambak setan, dan bisa nanjak kayak motor 4 tak.
Nah soal irit, dan bisa nanjak kayak motor 4 tak, itu saya cuma denger rumor dari para ABG tahun 1980-an dan sekarang tetap menjadi ABG (Anak baru Gocap) dan beberapa blogger serta beberapa URL yang tak lihat di Chrome saya. Tapi kalau banter, walaupun belum pernah njajal tapi ane 2 kali diasepin RX-King (hei RedBike, sadar diri po’o, Supra mu guduk lawane RX-King cak – yo yo hahaha)

Konon katanya para partisipan riset langsung melongo dan terkesima melihat RX-King awal. Ngomong-ngomong kenapa namaya RX-King bukan RX-As (kan kartu AS nilainya lebih tinggi dari King kalau maen Cap sa :mrgreen:) Ooh soalnya kan basisnya dari RX-K, makanya biar nyambung K-nya ditambahi ing, jadinya King yang berati raja, jadi maknanya Yamaha RX- yang jadi raja jalanan hehehe :mrgreen:

nah seperti nasib motor tua kebanyakan, selain dipelihara dengan baik dan benar oleh penghobi RX-King yang memang jumlahnya uakeh, kadang juga sepintas kelihatan motor ini dibuat angkut barang rombeng. Serius, motor ini kadang dibuat ngangkut sayur, ngangkut krupuk dan laen-laen. Tapi beberapa RX-King dimodif abis-abisan, bahkan cenderung trondol.Dan seperti motor bertenaga lumayan gede pada umumnya, kalau jatuh di tangan rider 4L@y, ya dibuat ugal-ugalan ga karuan. barusan tadi pagi lihat Rider RX-King alay didepan mata, hampir aja nabrak angkot tuh orang ckckck :twisted:
